Conduit 2 gets delayed again

Conduit 2 was suppose to be a 2010 title, was pushed to February 2011, then to March, and now there has been another delay! SEGA has posted the release date for April 19th.

Will it come out in April? Who knows now,  fans have been waiting for a long time and I hope it’s worth all the delays, unlike Alpha Protocol who shipped out buggy.

Conduit 2 trailer shows off weapons

Seems that the weapons for Conduit 2 will be a mash up of other weapons found in popular FPS games, not that this is a bad thing. We have a gravity gun looking weapon and the “see enemies & shoot them behind walls” gun that was in Resistance 2, might have been in more games.

I thought the game was out next month but it seems to be delayed till March. This game best be awesome.

Conduit 2 – New Trailer

Here is a new trailer for Conduit 2, the sequel to High Voltage’s 2009 first person shooter, The Conduit. Just like the original game Conduit 2 is a Wii exclusive.

Watching this trailer the game is giving me a very ‘Halo’ vibe, although I can’t help but be distracted by the sheer amount of jaggies. Will it be a good game or not? It’s hard to tell at this point.

Conduit 2 will release in February 2011.

Conduit 2 finally gets a solid release date

So if early 2011 wasn’t good enough date for you guys, you will be happy to know that Conduit 2 will hit retail on February 15th, 2011. That is right, the same day as Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3. I see where this is going…

Best of luck to SEGA and High Voltage games on this one, hopefully it does better than the first one.

The Conduit 2 Limited Edition exclusive to Gamestop

SEGA has just announced that the Limited Edition version of Conduit 2 will be exclusive to Gamestop. What will you get in this limited edition?

  • 44-page art book: Full of concept art and design choices made to Conduit 2’s sci fi world, weapons and enemies. .
  • “Eye of Ra” device: In-game item that helps you find the game’s secrets in twice the speed.
  • “Gold Destroyer Armor”: A special multiplayer skin based on the main armor.

This version isn’t ‘really’ a Limited Edition, its going to cost you the regular $49.99, seems that this is a ‘better’ scheme than pre-order extras. This way people will have to buy the game at GameStop if they want the extras.

Conduit 2 coming in Feburary, watch new trailer as you wait

Above is the new trailer for Conduit 2, showing off its split screen multiplayer and weapons you will be seeing next year.

SEGA stats the reason for the delay is fan feedback, apparently some studios delay games to add stuff fans want. I didn’t know this, hopefully its better than the first title.

HVS Interview Up On Conduit Portal, SEGA Evaluating Grinder Builds

It’s been a long time in coming, but my interview with High Voltage Software from PAX is finally up. We obviously talk about Conduit 2, but we also talk about High Voltage’s history with licensed software, their opinion on the 3DS, and their time with SEGA.

We also get a minor update on what’s going on with Grinder. Seems they’ve sent builds off to several publishers, including SEGA, for evaluation. You can read the interview and get all the details here.

HVS Working on Captain America For Wii

Sorry, tried to find a funnier pic, but this'll work.

I did an interview with Conduit 2’s Creative Director for the website Conduit Portal, and gave me a bit of info: High Voltage Software is working on the game adaption for Captain America: The First Avenger for the Wii.

SEGA was apparently happy with what they did with Iron Man 2, and are giving them much more freedom with this game. You can expect some further details, along with a whole load of details regarding HVS and their work with SEGA, when the interview is released in the next few days.

Conduit 2 won’t be released this year

Conduit 2 has been delayed to the first quarter of 2011. When the game does come out though, it will support the classic controller and classic controller pro, if you aren’t into the whole motion controller thing.

We already know that High Voltage Studios has fired some of its staff and the remaining people are working on this game, seems that they fired them too soon and could have used those helping hands!

Conduit 2 Official Boxart Revealed!

I considered making the headline different from the one on the SEGA Blog, but hey, it says what it is! The Conduit 2 boxart has been revealed! Big dude in a suit with a gun, I swear I’ve seen this somewhere before…

Well, the flames coming out of the floor is rather cool. Also, the subhead says the game’s best features right there. Works for me! What do you all think?

Conduit 2 interview with Jeremiah Cauthorn

Nuckles87 had a one on one interview with weapons programmer Jeremiah Cauthorn on The Conduit 2.

What can you tell us about the changes in multiplayer?

We’ve added all new levels. We’ve also added six new weapons with an alt-fire mode on each weapon such as the TCP launcher. You can also lay out proxy mines so when people walk by them, they explode. You can also tag people with them. We support 12 player online multiplayer and local splitscreen with 2-4 player multiplayer. We’ve been working closely with Nintendo so we have this new rival system. So if you meet someone in a match you can click their name and add them to your rivals list.

Conduit 2 to ship with headset

SEGA and High Voltage seem to be going over the top for their upcoming FPS game on the Wii. They have promised chatting before matches and during matches. So everyone can chat, SEGA will be bundling a headset with the game.

Also new, the game will have a ‘perk’ system like Modern Warfare 2, they will also be able to patch the game, have 30 suit upgrades, and 15 confirmed multiplayer maps. The team is thinking about DLC and even hinted at vehicles being used for some game types.

Sounds like the game will be jammed pack.

Conduit 2 to support voice chat with any player?

New information regarding Conduit 2 suggest that you won’t need to be in the same game with players on your ‘friends list’ to chat with them. Which is pretty good for a Wii game.

The article also says that you will be able to add players you played with to your “ally list”, this list can hold up to 96 players. Friend codes will be required to put friends on your ‘friends list’ but not ‘allies list’. Sort of move, if you ask me.

Since this information is not 100% confirmed, we will put this up as a rumor.

The Conduit 2 to have melee weapons; will utilize Wii Motion Plus

Alright, so I had a nice chat with Jeremiah Cauthorn, the weapons designer for the Conduit 2. I was asking him about how the Wii Motion Plus will be used. Apparently, aside from tracking your movements off screen, it’s also going to be used for melee weapons! He couldn’t give me an further details, but regardless, it looks like that’s going to be part of the Conduit 2 experience.

We will have a preview of the Conduit 2, as well a video interview with Cauthorn, up tomorrow.
