In celebration of Valentine’s Day, SEGA has released new DLC for Typing of the Dead: Overkill in the form of the ‘Love at First Bite’ Lexicon Pack. Meanwhile, for those who have had enough of Valentine’s Day, on February 13th SEGA will release the free ‘Make War Not Love’ Lexicon Pack, which replaces all the words and phrases with battle cries and “motivational military speak”. So whether you’re in the mood for love, or want to head to battle, SEGA has you covered.

UPDATE: Shenmue’s Ryo Hazuki now available as DLC in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for PC

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed‘s Steam store page has updated with the addition of Ryo Hazuki DLC! Unlike past additions to the PC version of the game, Ryo does not appear as a free update, but rather has to be purchased for $1.59. Riding in a trio of classic SEGA arcade machines (Hang-On, Space Harrier, and OutRun), Ryo just about beats Ages in terms of fan-service. But the real question is, who would win in a race? Daytona USA’s Hornet, or Ryo in an OutRun cabinet? Only one way to find out…

Sonic Lost World Wii U DLC available now – Yoshi’s Island Zone

The latest Nintendo Direct broke the news that free DLC is available now for the Wii U version of Sonic Lost World. The unique DLC features a new zone which takes place in Yoshi’s Island, aptly named Yoshi’s Island Zone. Footage shows Sonic running through a 2D Yoshi’s Island, taking out Mario enemies whilst followed by a line of collected eggs. This surprise DLC is quite interesting, as it opens the door to possible future DLC in which Sonic enters other video game worlds from both Nintendo and SEGA franchises. Iwata hinted that Zelda could be next.

Never would I think that someday there would be a game featuring Sonic, Yoshi, and NiGHTS. Download the DLC today and let us know what you think of it!

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has added another guest racer to the roster by way of the Yogscast. What is the Yogscast? The Steam page for the DLC describes Yogscast as “the UK’s most watched YouTube channel”. The DLC, which is priced at $4.99/€3.99, came about though a partnership with SEGA to raise money for the YouTube channel’s annual charity drive. The racer is Yogscast’s very own Simon Lane, aka Honeydew. 100% of all SEGA and Yogscast proceeds are being donated to the SpecialEffect charity.

You can purchase the DLC and learn more about the content on the dedicated Steam page. After the break, check out a gallery of the guest racer.

Yogscast DLC teased for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed

Recently, Sumo Digital producer Steve Lycett has been teasing a new controversial character to be added to the roster of the PC version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. Nothing has been formally announced as of yet, but according to a recent stream from the Yogscast – one of UK’s top Youtube channels – it was revealed that they’re pushing for a new Humble Bundle that is currently not active, which reportedly has Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and a new racer as part of the deal. In addition, their livestream revealed not only the bundle, but that there is charity DLC on the way for the PC version of the game. They didn’t reveal what it is, but given Lycett’s comments, and what they mentioned and showed on the stream, the new racer could be Yogscast’s very own Simon.

Keep in mind it is entirely for charity and not a deal of a Lets Play “celebrity” taking away a spot of a potential SEGA character. Lycett also mentioned that there is more stuff on the way that would be bigger. But for now, this is whats set for December 6th.

New DLC for Racing Transformed discovered on Steam

miku_transformed

Mystery DLC has been discovered on Steam for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. It has a date of November 5th. I remember a while back Steve Lycett saying there would be one more character coming this year who was rated highly on the poll. This could mean anything though. Do you think it’s Miku? Do you think its Ryo Hazuki? Do you think it’s Kazuma Kiryu? Let us know in the comments!

It might also be important to note that the past few character updates have been included as patches, yet whatever this upcoming content is seems like it’s going to be paid DLC.

UPDATE: Sonic Lost World Deadly Six Bonus Edition officially revealed for Wii U

pdub

Thanks to the SEGA Blog, we now have more details on the previously revealed NiGHTS into Dreams inspired Wii U Sonic Lost World DLC. As described by SEGA, “Sonic has been sucked into a world of nightmares created by Wizeman, and must defeat the Deadly Six, who are riding on gigantic Nightmaren monsters inspired from the game NiGHTS into Dreams….” The content includes an exclusive level that is accessed via a download code which is obtained when pre-ordering the game (or while supplies last). SEGA says the DLC will be instantly playable, and that upon completing the level a special Color Power (usually only obtainable from Miiverse) is rewarded. SEGA also notes that the Deadly Six Bonus Edition will be called the Deadly Six Edition in Europe. Given that SEGA did not link to any specific retailer, it is being assumed that like Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, this bonus edition will be available to all who pre-order and purchase within the release window. Later pressings of the game will likely drop the content.

After the break, check out the special cover art as well as a few new screens.

SEGA has released the Sonic Lost World Gamescom trailer with an added bit at the end showing off a special version of Sonic Lost World for Wii U dubbed The Deadly Six Edition which includes “deadlier game content” by way of The Deadly Six teaming up with NiGHTS bosses! Yes, you read that right. Sonic is going back to the world of NiGHTS and is taking on several bosses from the series. Give the video a watch and try to wrap your head around this crazy news! Currently the special edition of the game is only announced for the UK, but like Sonic & All-Stars Racing’s special edition a US version is likely to be revealed too.

New Aliens: Colonial Marines trophies point to extended single player DLC

Aliens: Colonial Marines wasn’t a great game at all, we reviewed it here and hated it. But SEGA did sell a season pass for the title and seems that Gearbox and SEGA are making good on their DLC promise with this upcoming DLC pack titled ‘Stasis Interrupted’. You can view the extra trophies here.

The season pass promised four pieces of downloadable content and this would mark the fourth released. The previous released DLCs: Reconnaissance Pack, Movie Map Pack, and Bug Hunt Pack. According to Randy Pitchfork, CEO of Gearbox, that after they finish the DLC for Aliens: Colonial Marines they will cease development on current generation consoles. Meaning that this ‘Statis Interrupted’ could be the last time Gearbox Software creates anything for current generation consoles.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed seems to be the big news topic today, with producer SOL teasing a new update on the Steam community forums. He posted the following:

Aliens: Colonial Marines “Bug Mode” coming in March

We posted that Aliens: Colonial Marines was going to get a season pass, this obviously means that DLC was going to be announced very soon and guess what? Here is the first pack, titled “Bug Mode”. If you pick up the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines at Wal-Mart, you will get the Bug Mode DLC for free. How much does it cost solo? Well, Gearbox Software  or SEGA haven’t revealed that just yet. Wal-Mart says its a ‘$14.99 dollar value’.

We also posted about the season pass DLC here before, back then the season pass  was only confirmed for PC. Now Gearbox has confirmed it for all consoles. You pay $29.99 dollars now and you recieve all four DLC packs at a discounted rate. If the first ‘Bug Mode’ is going to cost $14.99, then that is a pretty good deal. Bug Mode will basically be Horde Mode (Gears of War) or Invasion Mode (Binary Domain). Basically you and friends take on waves of enemies that increase in difficulty as you progress.
