Yakzua of the End features monsters

We already know that Yakuza of the End will feature zombies, we covered this for many posts. This time we will start off this posts with the monsters in the game. The one above is called “Tsuchigumo”, which is actually based on legend. Then there is the Basan, which has dragon wings and can fly (pictured below).

Some of the other zombies already confirmed are tribal, which are the street fighters and the bloated ones that look disgusting. They will leak acid while you shoot them.

Yakuza of the End gets awesome Famitsu DX bundle

From Famitsu’s online store,  Japanese consumers will be able to purchase a special ‘Famitsu DX bundle’ version of Yakuza of the End. The bundle will include, along with the copy of the game, an awesome-looking stainless steel tumbler.

If that wasn’t enough, Japanese consumers who pre-order the game right now will be given the “Yakuza Karaoke Best Selection” soundtrack for free.

Damn must feel good living in Japan and getting neat extras like this, in America they cut content and give you ‘free updates’ as pre-order bonuses.

Yuji Naka’s new game might come west as ‘Rodea the Sky Soldier’

Yuji Naka’s latest adventure game with Prope has been announced in Japan, it is called Tenkuu no Kishi Rodea. But that name is not very good for a western port, not at all. So the publisher, Kadokawa Games copyrighted the name ‘Rodea the Sky Soldier’ in America.

The odd thing is Kadokawa Games doesn’t have a US branch. This game might be brought over by another publisher, maybe NIS America or XSeed.

Have some screens and art that the publisher released in their latest press conference in Japan.

So how well is Virtua Fighter 5 doing in the arcades?

Recently Tekken producer, Katsuhiro Harada, put up a scan of the latest Amusement Journal to show off that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion was number one. Screw that, what about Virtua Fighter?

Virtura Fighter 5 R came in 5th place and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown came in at 14th place. This might seem bad, but if you combined the earnings of both titles as one it would come in at a solid 3rd place. R came out in February 2008, so the title is going to be 3 years old soon. While Final Showdown came out in July of last year.

Shows how much more popular Tekken is, since Bloodline Rebellion version came out in December of 2008.

Yakuza of the End zombie types detailed

[Sexy zombie researcher? Check]

You can’t just have a game with zombies, that doesn’t work. You have to have classes of zombies, every game has to have a variety of these brain munchers and Yakuza of the End is no different. Famitsu this week introduced a few of the classes you can expect in the full game.

  • Yakuza type: These are those annoying people that challenged you to fights in former games at random, now sharp dressed zombies. They aren’t very strong.
  • Nakionna Type: “Nakionna” is those women you see crying at funerals. Them, as zombies, will scream for back up. Take ’em out!
  • Homeless Zombie: Homeless people are zombies too, you know? Even though they are zombies, they act the same… however homeless people act.

If you haven’t seen the other pictures, that lady in white is Reiko Hasegawa, a sexy zombie researcher. She will keep you informed on all your zombie craving news.

Unreleased Yakuza 3D was amazing says director

Toshihiro Nagoshi was in Nintendo World this weekend to promote the upcoming Super Monkey Ball 3DS; if you didn’t know, Nagoshi is also the director for the Yakuza series.
He updated his blog while he was there, and this lead to readers posting about a Yakuza 3D title, and if there will ever be one. According to Nagoshi, the team has already worked with 3D for a Yakuza title. He teases us, “Yakuza 3D was amazing.”

Most of his blog post was about 3D technology and why it’s difficult to use. He explained that making the image come out in 3D is not hard, but since 3D has to use an image twice, you lose some visual quality. He said that they had to choose between using the full power of the game or degrading it to half for the 3D effect. Why not have optional 3D like all 3D PS3 titles?

Super Monkey Ball 3DS Japanese boxart & release date

This is basically what you’d expect from a Super Monkey Ball game cover. It has those cute monkeys you love, though this one seems to be showing more of a cut out art style. Reminds me of Kirby’s Epic Yarn sort of.

Even though Super Monkey Ball 3DS was one of the first shown and one of the first games to get gameplay footage online, it will not be a launch title for the hardware, at least in Japan. Nintendo put up their official line up of games and it excluded this title.

The title will actually launch in Japan on March 3rd, one week after the 3DS is out. Reason for this? No idea.

Yakuza of the End’s partner system detailed

SEGA is changing up the Yakuza formula, not just adding more gun play and zombies, but a ‘partner system’. The partner system is called “Aibo wo Tsukurou!” or in English “Let’s make a partner!”

If you clear some sub story missions you will unlock partner characters, which you will be able to level up and bring with you to challenge dungeons called “Kamurocho Underground.” While fighting you will be able to give them commands.

Some of the partner characters will be returning faces like Kazuto Arase and Makoto Date. To level up your partner characters a user has to go to “Gary’s Boot Camp”, which is run by Gary Buster Holmes, who you might remember from the first two PS2 games.

Project Diva 2 will be playable on PS3 too

If you didn’t know, the first Project Diva game was playable on the PS3 via a application you bought called “Hatsune Miku Dreamy Theater” and now SEGA has said they are planning Hatsune Miku Dreamy Theater 2nd.

This app will basically let you play the PSP game, on the PS3 with high definition graphics. It is expected to come out in Summer 2011, no price announced just yet.

You can check out the official site here, even has a teaser for the app here.

Do you love limited released SEGA stuff? I do, even though I never get anything and all the good stuff is from Japan. When SEGA does put good stuff on their Free Stuff Friday, some dude named MarioLugiKratos always ends up getting it. Bummer.

The demo is going to be limited to 10,000 units. To get one you have to cross a Rappy’s ears and then fill out some application stuff. This is all for Japan, you can also fill out this application and hand it to SEGA at their Jump Festa booth.
