Want a New English Trailer for Marza’s Captain Harlock Movie? Well Here You Go

UPDATE: So this trailer keeps being taken down from Youtube. If the video above gets taken down again you can watch it here on Dailymotion.

If you weren’t sure yet if the Captain Harlock movie Marza Animation Planet is working on is actually coming to the west, a new English trailer got leaked yesterday from the site of the company that does the marketing for the film in the west. This trailer shows two and a half minutes of footage, mostly with a very not-Japanese song being played over it. I have to say, it’s looking pretty dang good.

Toei also released a couple of other trailers earlier this year and released a small 30 second teaser earlier this week. Besides this, merch and also a localized version of the script has been leaked, so there may be spoilers on the internet. The Japanese release date is September 7th, dates for other countries aren’t known yet.

Marza Animation Planet trademarks “Luna’s Arc”

LunasArc2
Marza Animation Planet, a SEGA-Sammy owned CGI animation studio has trademarked the title ‘Luna’s Arc’.

This could be the title to their next film, which they chose the script from their online competition: Story Circus.  They have done the competition two years in a row and have picked up two full scripts to do an animated film on. Who knows, maybe next year us SEGAbit people will submit some scripts.

As for what this could be, who knows. Luna is Italian/Spanish for moon, which could me a space sort of film. What are your thoughts? Sound off in the comments.

Marza Animation Planet’s Space Pirate Captain Harlock gets a new trailer

Marza Animation Planet (the guys that did the awesome Night of the Werehog) and Toei Animation have released a new trailer for their upcoming film Space Pirate Captain Harlock. The film is being directed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed and Halo Legends) and has a pretty low budget of 30 million dollars, regardless of budget the trailer looks impressive. Also Anime News Network states that this is Toei Animation movie, yet Marza Animation Planet is still listing it on their site. Odd?

The film is set to come out in the west this fall, debuted in Japan last week. Excited yet?

Wreck-It Ralph poster features Sonic, Eggman and Demon God Neff

Well this is a surprise! Sonic, Eggman and Demon God Neff of Altered Beast ended up on the final poster for Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph. I was looking forward to the movie, but now I’m looking forward to picking up the poster for my game room. Also on the poster are characters from Q*Bert, Street Fighter, and Clyde of Pac-Man fame. As the poster states, Wreck-It Ralph releases November 2nd in the United States. No word on where you can buy the poster yet, but it should appear on movie poster sites soon. In the meantime, you can see a larger version here.

Update: Two new trailers has released for the movie, and fans have spotted Sonic in another scene. Check them out after the break and thanks to CosmicCastaway for the tip!

Confirmed: Eggman to cameo in Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph

Yup, we have known about this for awhile now. But now it is confirmed by Entertainment Weekly that Doctor Ivo Robotnik aka Doctor Eggman will cameo in the upcoming Disney flick “Wreck-It Ralph”. The movie is about a videogame villain who is looking to change paths in life. I guess being evil is only cool for so long and probably doesn’t pay very well.

If you saw the leak, other villains who are set to cameo in the movie include Street Fighter‘s M. Bison and Browser from the Super Mario Brothers series. As of right now it’s not known if Eggman will be having spoken dialogue in the movie, but Eggman’s voice actor did tease a major announcement. Could this have been it? The movie is set to release in November 2012, are you excited?

Update: Entertainment Weekly wrote that Eggman mainly stays in the background however he does speak the group’s mantra in unison with the others as the scene ends: “I’m bad, and that’s good. I will never be good, and that’s not bad. There’s no one I’d rather be than me.”

Eggman and Other Video Game Baddies Cameo in a Disney Movie? Yup.

Disney’s 3D animated movie “Wreck-It Ralph”, slated for a November 2012 release, is very much like a “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” with video game characters. The film tells the story of Wreck-It Ralph, an arcade game bad guy who appears within a fictional 80’s arcade game called “Fix-It Felix Jr.”. Within the arcade game, Felix builds buildings, and Ralph destroys them. Sounds a bit like a cross between Donkey Kong and Rampage. However, just like in Toy Story, the characters have lives outside of their fictional roles and Ralph is having second thoughts about villainy, hoping to become a hero.

The movie has been said to feature cameos from real world video game characters, but up until now none have been revealed. In the latest issue of Disney’s D23 Magazine, a few behind-the-scenes photos are shown and in one image none-other than SEGA’s very own Eggman can be seen sitting with other video game bad guys including Bowser and Street Fighter’s Zangief! No idea what the scene is about, but I’d guess it’s a video game villain support group. Despite the blurry pic, Eggman seems pretty disinterested in the meeting. No word on Mike Pollock voicing the doctor, but it would be a crime if he didn’t. After the break, check out the full scan. Thanks to jennytablina of The Sonic Stadium Boards for the scans!

5 Ingredients for a Great Crazy Taxi Movie

Believe it or not, a Crazy Taxi movie had been in the works as early as 2001! Initially, director Richard Donner (of the first Superman film) had been attached to direct an adaptation of the hit SEGA video game. Said Donner in an interview with About.com, “Everybody in my company loves it. Everybody loved Crazy Taxi from the beginning. I used to love to play it and the opportunity of turning it into a film came up so now we’ve got to [adapt] a game that has no characters that come to life. So, now we’ve got to create the characters so that you care about it and you care about them, you get emotionally charged by them and committed”. Donner further stated that he wasn’t certain that the game characters would be in the film, unless they work and can be embellished upon. As for location, Donner had decided on New York City.

Of course, these plans never came to fruition and due to difficulties in finding a plot for the film, Donner dropped the project and the rights were picked up by Mindfire Entertainment, the idiots behind those awful House of the Dead movies. Thankfully, Mindfire has yet to bring the proposed Crazy Taxi film to screens (or direct to DVD) and perhaps they have since lost the rights. Despite any hopes for a Crazy Taxi movie being dead in the water, as fans we can still dream. So join me as I reveal the five ingredients for a grrrrrreat Crazy Taxi movie!

Virtua Tennis 4 Announced!

Today Sega have announced Virtua Tennis 4, the next game in the hit Virtua Tennis series, but this time with a difference!

Virtua Tennis 4 will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and will have both Move controls and be 3D enabled, Anna Kournikova’s arse will seem so close to your face you could almost taste it.

[Edit] It appears that this game will be developed in Japan by the original Virtua Tennis team and not by Sumo Digital, pretty big news! Maybe that will free up Sumo for some more Sega All-Stars action. [/Edit]

What Thor will look like in the upcoming movie

No, this has not turned into a Marvel comic book blog. But SEGA is going to publish The Mighty Thor movie game and the models will be based off the movie. So go ahead and have a gander at the actor dressed up as the Norse based comic book hero.

Actor? Chris Hemsworth. Never heard of him? Neither have I. But he looks the part.
