Atlus publishing a failed Kickstarter game called Citizens of Earth

While there are many Kickstarter success stories like Broken Age or Shovel Knight, not all potentially good games make it through. Citizens of Earth by Eden Industries is one of these games, as it failed to meet it’s $100.000 funding goal. It seems like the people at Atlus think that this game has potential though, as they announced today that they’ll be publishing the game for PC, PS4, Vita, Wii U and 3DS.

The game itself is a comedic RPG inspired by Earthbound, in which you play as the vice president of the world and recruit ordinary people into your party. You can find a lot more details about it along with gameplay and a demo on the original Kickstarter page. Citizens of Earth will be released on the already mentioned platforms later this year in the US and Europe.

SEGA’s press site has released a batch of new screenshots for the upcoming Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 game Alien Isolation, developed by The Creative Assembly. Like previously released screens, we see a quiet and creepy setting in which you play as Ellen Ripley’s daughter Amanda trapped in isolation on a space station with the titular alien. Some cool elements on display are the electronics Amanda uses which double as the game’s HUD, clearly inspired by the 1979 film. After the break check out a full gallery of the latest screens! Yakuza Ishin is the Number One PS4 game in Japan

If you haven’t been keeping up with Japanese PS4 news, PlayStation Japan has been doing a PS4 countdown showing various games. They saved the best for last. Yakuza Ishin is “1 day left” of the PS4 countdown and has the longest trailer by far out of all the games on the countdown. You can see some new footage, it’s all cinematic footage, but it looks great. Also has some awesome music by a Japanese band called “ONE OK ROCK”.

New Sonic the Hedgehog game due in 2015 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Wii U

The toy company Jazwares featured an interesting sign at last week’s Nuremberg toy fair. As reported by The Sonic Stadium, the sign charts the future of the Sonic brand including the reveal that 2015 will see the release of a new Sonic game for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Wii U. Little else is revealed, but the lack of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 may be a sign that Sonic’s days on those platforms have come to an end. Also interesting, no sign of the supposed third exclusive Wii U Sonic title. Either it is still on the way, and has yet to be revealed, or the upcoming 2015 is that third title and the deal with Nintendo has since changed. More on Sonic 2015 adventure as we hear it!

Also detailed is the upcoming CG cartoon series Sonic Boom, however none of the information is new.

New Yakuza Ishin video compares the PS3 and PS4 versions

An exciting new video has hit promoting both the PS3 and PS4 versions of Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin!, due for a release in Japan on February 22, 2014. The comparison video, shared in our forums by maakun2896, not only shows off gameplay footage, but they even detail the differences in controllers and package design. No word on a release to the West just yet, but the game is looking so good that many fans have already decided to import rather than wait. Are you planning on importing the game, or are you a lucky soul living in Japan? Sound off in the comments below, or discuss the game further in our dedicated forum topic!

Alien: Isolation developers diary – ‘Origin’

Check out this developer diary for the newly announced Alien: Isolation, now we get to hear the guys at Creative Assembly talk about what they are trying to create and so far it sounds good. They want to focus on the original Alien, from the first movie. Not give the players ‘tons’ of Aliens to mow down, make the space ship look low-fi sci-fi feel to it. I like what I’m hearing, but talk is cheap so I can’t wait to play this title.

What are your impressions?

On a special holiday edition of Sonic Talk, me, Nux and GX get into a long discussion about Sonic Lost World along with our experiences with the PS4. Also, we have an interview with Aaron Webber about the game as well. This interview was done before the fix so some complaints are now old. All that, and I sing a brand new Christmas song just to torture everyone! (As if the audio wasn’t bad enough in this episode). WARNING! LOST WORLD SPOILERS AHEAD.

Nagoshi: New Yakuza unlikely to come to Wii U

Now that SEGA and Nintendo have announced Yakuza 1&2 HD coming to the Wii U, everyone is asking the question if the new upcoming Yakuza game will appear on Nintendo’s console. In a new interview Nagoshi has stated that it seems unlikely. Yakuza 1&2 HD on Wii U marks the first time ever (not counting mobile phone games) that the series has appeared on a console not made by Sony. When asked if it would be coming to the 3DS, he stated simply no.

But what about the Vita? He said that it seems something natural for people to expect. So it seems if you want your Yakuza fix, it is guaranteed on Sony platforms. I say, the more platforms the better.
