Why its the perfect time for SEGA gamers to join the PC master race

SEGAPCmasterrace
Ever since SEGA went 3rd party, fans have been looking for a new console to call home. The issue? SEGA, like all big 3rd party publishers, likes to keep their games in a multitude of devices and consoles. Now that the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One are already out, which one should a SEGA fan buy? Well, if you will take a few minutes to hear me out, I’ll tell you why I personally prefer the PC for gaming over the new consoles.

The Sound of Alien: Isolation

The music and sounds to the original Alien is perhaps just as integral and iconic part of the Alien franchise and SEGA seems well aware of that. In this latest video (Along with new gameplay footage to boot) Creative Assembly’s creative lead Al Hope speaks about the care the developer is putting into the sounds for Alien: Isolation.

Not only will it a soundtrack put together from it’s own personal orchestra (With some members of the group having worked with Jerry Goldsmith on the original film’s soundtrack) but also develop a dynamic sound system where the music changes depending on both what the player and the Alien is doing. It’s clear to see that SEGA is taking as much care as possible with this latest title after their mis-step in Aliens: Colonial Marines and having just won Eurogamer’s Rezzed Game of the Show award, they seem to be well on track to delivering a great Alien game.

Yakuza Ishin is the Number One PS4 game in Japan

If you haven’t been keeping up with Japanese PS4 news, PlayStation Japan has been doing a PS4 countdown showing various games. They saved the best for last. Yakuza Ishin is “1 day left” of the PS4 countdown and has the longest trailer by far out of all the games on the countdown. You can see some new footage, it’s all cinematic footage, but it looks great. Also has some awesome music by a Japanese band called “ONE OK ROCK”.

Yakuza Restoration on the PS3 will have “a little bonus” for fans

yakuzaps3

The guys over at Siliconera recently spoke to Yakuza producer and all around tan man Toshihiro Nagoshi about the differences between Yakuza Restoration on the Playstation 3 vs the Playstation 4. He stated the the game will only differ visually since the Playstation 4 has 10x more power than the Playstation 3. He stated they have always intended for this title to be a launch game on Playstation 4 and worked hard in getting it ready.

Even though the Playstation 3 version won’t have as smooth framrate or fancy effects like the Playstation 4 version, it will have a ‘a little bonus’ for fans that have save data from previous Yakuza games. Not bad, right? Demo for Yakuza Restoration is now on the Japanese PSN store, game comes out over there on February 22nd. No Western release plans have been announced.

The demo will weigh in at 2,410 MB. The game will come out on February 22nd on both Playstation 3 and Playstation 4. No Western release plans have been announced.

New Sonic the Hedgehog game due in 2015 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Wii U

The toy company Jazwares featured an interesting sign at last week’s Nuremberg toy fair. As reported by The Sonic Stadium, the sign charts the future of the Sonic brand including the reveal that 2015 will see the release of a new Sonic game for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Wii U. Little else is revealed, but the lack of Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 may be a sign that Sonic’s days on those platforms have come to an end. Also interesting, no sign of the supposed third exclusive Wii U Sonic title. Either it is still on the way, and has yet to be revealed, or the upcoming 2015 is that third title and the deal with Nintendo has since changed. More on Sonic 2015 adventure as we hear it!

Also detailed is the upcoming CG cartoon series Sonic Boom, however none of the information is new.

No word on a release to the West just yet, but the game is looking so good that many fans have already decided to import rather than wait. Are you planning on importing the game, or are you a lucky soul living in Japan? Sound off in the comments below, or discuss the game further in our dedicated forum topic!

Alien: Isolation screenshot shows off freakishly large Alien

normal_aiscreenshot017

It hasn’t been long since the last batch of screenshots for Alien: Isolation by The Creative Assembly that SEGA are already rolling out some new screenshots featuring the universe’s deadliest killer. This time we get to see the titular antagonist sheer size as he appears hunched back and wandering through the space station Sevastopol for the protagonist, Amanda Ripley. But that’s not all as we also get confirmation for the first time that androids will be appearing and one poor individual seemingly to have come face to face with the Xenomorph. Hit the jump to see all the new screenshots.

Yakuza Restoration will run at 60fps on Playstation 4

yakuza_ishin_01
This week’s Dengeki Playstation magazine has confirmed that the Playstation 4 version of Yakuza Restoration will run at a smooth 60 FPS.

Other than that the game will also support some special features on the Dualshock 4 controller. You can control the map using the touchpad and the light bar on the controller flashes when taking damage. Not as huge as 60 frames per second, but still nice.

The game supports Remote Play and also has a special streaming feature that shows viewer comments on the screen, sorta how they do it on NicoNico Live. But that isn’t everything, the more comments the quicker your recovery time when you’re down and also the rate your parameters fill up.

Yakuza Restoration is coming to both PS3 and PS4 on February 22nd in Japan. No Western release plans have been announced.

Alien: Isolation developers diary – ‘Origin’

Check out this developer diary for the newly announced Alien: Isolation, now we get to hear the guys at Creative Assembly talk about what they are trying to create and so far it sounds good. They want to focus on the original Alien, from the first movie. Not give the players ‘tons’ of Aliens to mow down, make the space ship look low-fi sci-fi feel to it. I like what I’m hearing, but talk is cheap so I can’t wait to play this title.

What are your impressions?

Haruka cleans your home in Yakuza Restoration

Haruka1

Haruka has been in the Yakuza franchise since the first title came out on the Playstation 2 back in 2005 and is a main character of the franchise. In this title, the character Ryoma Sakamoto (played by Kiryu Kazuma) meets Haruka (yes, they are keeping her name) after saving her from a incident (that isn’t revealed). After that, she decides to let him live with her. Yeah, even she’s confused in the picture above.

Check the gallery after the jump for more photos of her sweeping dirt, caressing Ryoma’s head and other creepy shots.
