SEGA letting you choose the next Transformers: Human Alliance trailer

segatransformvidfb

If you didn’t know, SEGA is teasing their upcoming light-gun licensed game titled Transformers: Human Alliance. We have covered it before and since I really like SEGA’s (good) license arcade titles (Daytona USA, Die Hard Arcade and the lot). This time SEGA is letting users vote on what ‘trailer’ they want to see next. Each trailer is based on a area in the game, these two areas are England (which you have to like their Facebook post to vote on) and the other is Africa (which you have to share the post to like it.)

“20,000 likes! Thanks everyone! To celebrate we are going to give you a chance to see some of Transformers Human Alliance in action for the first time! LIKE to see the England stage or SHARE to see the Africa stage! Which ever is highest we will share a video of that stage next week!”

Its not surprising that England stage is winning, Facebook users are more inclined to like a post than to share it on their wall. If you want to cast your vote, check out SEGA Amusement’s Facebook page here.

Treasure says there is ‘good news’ coming regarding Ikaruga

9914

The SEGA NAOMI cult classic shoot ’em up Ikaruga might have some ‘good’ news incoming, that is according to Treasure’s twitter account.

Of course, fans are raving and hoping that this will mean a sequel to the original (which was a spiritual successor to Radiant Silvergun). I also hope for a sequel, the game has had enough ports already (appearing on Dreamcast, Gamecube, XBLA, and Android mobile devices). So, are you guys ready to return to another bullet hell adventure?

Sonic Lost World Getting Pre-order DLC Featuring Omochao

soniclostworldpreorderheader

In these modern times video games often have pre-order bonuses to convince the consumer to buy the game. Usually this is some kind of skin, extra mission or unlockable character. For Sonic Lost World there’s already the Deadly Six edition for everyone who buys a first run copy, but apparently Sega thought this wasn’t incentive enough.

Depending on where you pre-order Sonic Lost World, you can get a some extra items or an exclusive skin for Omochao. In the UK you can get a rare gold Omochao RC Gadget and five extra Black Bomb Color Powers at ShopTo. In the US Gamestop has an Omochao RC Gadget with a Sonic skin and at Amazon.com the pre-order bonus is 25 extra lives.

Yakuza creator talks Ishin, Vita cross-play, smart phone development, testing the waters on Wii U, & localization

yakuza_ishin.0_cinema_640.0

At the Tokyo Game Show, Edge had a chance to interview Yakuza creator Toshihiro Nagoshi. They talked about everything from the upcoming Yakuza Ishin’s size to smart phone development! Please go over to Edge to check out the full interview, though we’ll be telling you about the more news worthy quotes here.

When asked about the size of Ishin, Nagoshi compared it favorably to Kenzan, saying:

“It will be a bit smaller than our recent games, but a lot bigger than the Kyoto in Kenzan. Also, the map itself might not seem large but there will be a lot of rooms inside the buildings that you can enter, so the total will still be many times bigger.”

SEGA Five: How to be the best Dreamcast collector that you can be

dc5

In celebration of Dreamcast month, the Friday Five is back! In this installment, I thought I’d share some collecting tips for both budding, and seasoned, Dreamcast collectors. Despite the Dreamcast’s short lifespan, the console has a vast library and a number of accessories. In total, there exist around seven hundred and twenty Dreamcast games, both licensed and unlicensed. Accessories range from various controllers, to keyboards, mice, lightguns, twinsticks, arcade sticks, cameras, and more! Suffice to say, collecting for the Dreamcast is a lot of fun.

Let’s kick off the list with one of the most important things a Dreamcast collector needs to remember…

Atlus opens Persona countdown site

persona5countdown

Besides the announcement of Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold earlier today, Atlus also put up a countdown site that opens up on November 24th, on which the next game by the team that made the Persona games will seemingly be revealed. This site was revealed by the official Persona Twitter account.

Also Index Corp registered a site for Persona 5 three months ago. Feel free to leave speculation for what this could be in the comments below.

Persona 4 Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold announced

Atlus revealed an sequel to Persona 4 Arena today called Persona 4 Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold today. Sure to be put on top of many top 10 best fighting game names lists, this update features a new story along with at least three new characters: Junpei and Yukari from Persona 3 and an original character called Sho Minazuki.

The official website also opened up, where a command list for the characters’ moves can be found. The subtitles in the trailer above are done by Youtube user bobrossfreak.

SEGA’s Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will be shown to the public on Oct 6th

DengekiBunkoFighting
We already talked about Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax before, SEGA’s new 2D fighting game. But there hasn’t been anything other than screenshots shown (teaser trailer here!). How will it play? Will it even be good? Well, you can expect tons of footage of the game running and hands-on impressions early next month.

The game will be shown at the Dengeki Bunko 2013 Autumn Festival, sadly this is a Japanese event. If you live in Japan, check out the game’s site for more information. The event will be free! It is confirmed that the public build will only have two playable characters, Shana (Shakugan no Shana) and Asuna (Sword Art Online).

Check out the Sonic Lost World opening cutscene

Seems that Gametrailers got access to a direct feed gameplay session with your boys over at SEGA and in the start of the footage they included the opening cutscene from the game.

So what stage are they demoing? Windy Hill Zone 3, in case you wanted to see the whole video.

The Deadly Six featured in latest Sonic Lost World trailer, game delayed one week for America

SEGA has offered up sort of a “choose-your-own-adventure” trailer which allows viewers to select each member of the Deadly Six and in turn view a short preview of the boss battles featured in Sonic Lost World. The trailer, seen above, highlights the various battles Sonic will take part in to reach whatever end boss Sonic Team has in store for players. Interestingly, it appears that the game will have sub-bosses and main bosses, sort of a throwback to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Eagle eyed viewers will notice that certain elements of boss battles carry over to background elements seen in later stages. Nice touch.

Unfortunately, there is some bad news. Fans have noticed that the American version of the trailer pushed the game’s release date back from October 22nd to the 29th.

SEGA reveals new 2D Fighter: Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax

dbfc

Earlier this year, we reported that SEGA would be teaming up with Japanese light novel publisher Dengeki Bunko on several projects in celebration of the novel publisher’s 20th anniversary. This celebration was kicked off with the announcement of the “SEGA Hard Girls” novel series earlier this year. Today, the next collaboration between the two companies has been announced: Dengeki Bunko Fight Climax.

DBFC will be a 2D fighting game that crosses over DB’s most popular characters, along with some of SEGA’s cast. At the moment, the only characters confirmed for the game are Asuna and Leafa from “Sword Art Online and Shana and Wilhelmina from “Shakugan no Shana”. No SEGA characters have been confirmed, though Valkyria Chronicles has been mentioned.

At the moment, a platform and release date for the game hasn’t been confirmed, but more details should be revealed when the game is shown again at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival on October 6th.

We’ll be reaching out to SEGA regarding chances of localization, so stay tuned for that. Given the relative obscurity of many of Dengeki Bunko’s franchises, combined with the fact that these licenses are spread across several different licensors in America, it is unlikely this game will be heading west. It was this same issue that kept the Jump Superstars crossover series from heading west, despite it containing a variety of popular characters including Naruto and DBZ’s Goku. On the other hand, some of Dengeki Bunko’s franchises have found some popularity among America’s anime fans. The most popular among them, Sword Art Online, currently airs on Adult Swim’s Toonami block. So, if the rights can be sorted out, localization may not be completely out of the question. Just don’t hold your breath.

You can check out some footage for the game here. You can check out more screenshots below.

Puyo Puyo Tetris trailer solves the ‘how it plays’ puzzle

We announced that SEGA was planning the ultimate puzzle crossover earlier this week and now we have a trailer (above) of the game in action. Knowing that both Puyo Puyo and Tetris have their own rules, how would SEGA combined them? It seems that one player will be able to play either Puyo Puyo rules or Tetris rules or vice versa.

As far as the trailer go, it is really in the vein of ‘Puyo Puyo’ with bright cheerful tone that reminds us of Puyo Puyo Fever. At TGS SEGA showed off ‘swap mode’ that will have players switching between Tetris and Puyo Puyo games or the option to play Tetris vs Tetris/Puyo vs Puyo. The game is set to release in Japan on the Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U sometime next year.
