The-Ghost-Blade-Boss

Its been a long time coming, but HUCAST Games’ latest release Ghost Blade is now available to purchase and play on your SEGA Dreamcast. Insert the obligatory “a Dreamcast game in 2015!?” here. Described as “an ace shoot ’em up for the Dreamcast with a focus on arcade action and an elaborate scoring system”, Ghost Blade promises three game modes with three player ships too choose from, five stages, a Caravan Mode, and support for the VGA Box, Arcade Stick, VMU and standard Dreamcast controller.

The game comes in two flavors:

ghost-blade-347047.6
Ghost Blade Regular Edition
which includes the game and full color manual in a DVD case with packaging that lines up with the other HUCAST Games releases as well as the NG:DEV.TEAM titles.

ghost-blade-limited-edition-347045.1
Ghost Blade Limited Edition (limited to 1,000 copies) which includes the game, full color manual, and soundtrack CD in a DVD case featuring alternate artwork.

Have you ordered the game or plan to order it? What are your thoughts on HUCAST Games’ latest title? Sound off in the comments below!

Update: Hucast has announced that Caravan Mode has been removed from the game.

It’s important to note that those of us that preordered/ordered the collectors/supporters edition of Ghost Blade WILL NOT get the game until at least November. Rene/Hucast reasoning is that because the guy recording the playthrough for the included Super Play DVD can’t record it yet. He’s busy.

I left my longwinded rant (which included my longwinded exchange with Rene going back two years) over at Dreamcast Talk, so I won’t reiterate here, but I’m done with dealing with Hucast. They aren’t forthcoming with their products and practices, and Rene in particular does not respect his customers/fans.

    • I’ll admit, that’s why I’ve gone through Play-Asia on all Hucast titles and have waited until games released and not pre-ordered. The Hucast store isn’t the best, and can be pricey when it comes to non-European orders.

I may do the same, or eBay. Speaking of which, there were listings on eBay (with photos) for Ghost Blade yesterday already. Curious.

    • I believe some people already have the game in hand, I know Tom of the Dreamcast Junkyard has a copy.

I don’t know if HUCAST does review copies now, but IIRC back in the day when I inquired I was told that they would send a disc only review copy my way but I don’t recall it ever happening.

Those disks don’t mess up or deteriorate you Dreamcast, does it?

I two ordered the game 2years ago. And now i have moved the another home so i emailed Rene if he can send my pre ordered game to the new address and he mailed me back with…. maybe. that was all. no thanks for preorder or anything. Let be real thas not how you pay respect to the customer that are waiting 2 year for your game. The same can be said to The water melon guy’s beat up game.

Wow.. I guess somebody’s really need to be taught a lesson or two about customer service.
The last time I bought Indie game is T*Gun II (for Sega Genesis/Megadrive). The maker is very communicative, we always chat via e-mail. He even promised to give me full refund if somehow I never received my game until exact date.
For Hucast, I agree with Barry, I’d prefer gone through Play-Asia and have waited until games released.

So the much touted Caravan Mode was dropped from the game. Rene confirmed it on Facebook. Who wants to take bets it will be in the 1.1 or 1.5 version of Ghost Blade? Hands up!

    I’m cancelling my CE order.
