SEGA News Bits: SEGA Mega Drive Mini & SEGA AGES for Nintendo Switch Reaction

SEGA Fes 2018 had four big reveals, and on this SEGA News Bits we take a look at the first two of them. First up is SEGA AGES, M2’s answer to a 3D Classics lineup for the Nintendo Switch. Next we look at the AtGames Mega Drive Mini, a new plug and play from AtGames which is SEGA’s answer to the SNES Classic.

    yet another plug and play mega drive thingy. It’s becoming embarrassing to be a Sega fan these days…

    i don’t understand why there’s so much fanfare for this thing. If this were being manufactured by Sega, then maybe I could see it. It’s cool if AtGames is improving their emulation and hopefully the quality of their hardware builds, I need more new features to even begin to care. Show me an HDMI output, support for 32X and/or SCD, and an atypical game lineup with a promise of 99.9% accuracy with emulation, and I’ll be interested.

    As it stands, we’re looking at yet another Genesis/Mega Drive compilation coming in about a month, the announcement of new Sega Ages titles coming to Switch, and also, you know, we’ve had easy access to mini Genesis consoles (including a PORTABLE version) for the past several years. I just don’t understand what we’re supposed to be hyped for.
