SEGA Filed Four Trademarks Of Classic Titles – Including Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, and Eternal Champions

UPDATE: To follow up with this article, SEGA has filed eight more trademarks of their classic IPs which includes Alex Kidd, After Burner, Crazy Taxi, House of the Dead, Outrun, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, and Super Monkey Ball. We’ll keep you all updated when more news arrive!

Following up with the recent announcement during the Game Awards, SEGA has filed four trademarks of their classic IPs which includes Jet Set Radio (which was recently announced at the Game Awards), and three more titles such as Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, and Eternal Champions.

With these trademarks being filed publicly, we might see more games in development from SEGA down the line or it could be something completely different from what we could expect.     We’ve been on slim pickings for so long that frankly any news related to revival of classic Sega IPs is welcome. Outside of JSR these are not IPs I would have picked, so interested to see what if anything they make of them.

    With respect to Altered Beast, there’s enough of a ‘world’ and concept in the original arcade game to turn that into a decent modern interpretation. I also remember finding some enjoyment in the PS2 3D Altered Beast game despite it being quite rough.

    No real interest in Eternal Champions or Kid Chameleon, but I’m sure others will have fond memories of those IPs. I mean if you’re going to make a vs fighter, just give us Virtua Fighter 6 already (indications are they are at least looking into a new VF).
