No, this isn’t one of George’s old “spot the differences” contests. SEGA Network chum TheGagaman spotted this funny difference between the US and UK sites for Jet Set Radio. See the change? Piranha’s boobies have been covered by a green tank top. Guess somebody at SEGA legal thought the US page was too scandalous for the kiddies. No word if this change will be applied to the in-game character (unlikely), but its a funny example of American squeamishness.
So a ton of new info has been released for Yakuza 5. This week Famitsu looks at the game’s ‘Another Dramas’ which is basically ‘side missions’ if you want to call it that. The Yakuza team is trying to bring something unique for each character, so they will each have a new gameplay mechanic to go along with their ‘Another Dramas’. One of the most interesting ones is Kazuma Kiryu’s taxi driving minigame. For details on all the new gameplay details, hit the jump.
I love the Valkyria Chronicles franchise. I loved the first one on the Playstation 3, then when the sequel was announced for PSP. But at least the second one came West, even if it was a downgrade from the Playstation 3 experience. Then the 3rd one didn’t make it West, my anger built. Now the newest entry, Valkyria Chronicles Duel isn’t even a handheld/console game, but a web browser game? Fudge muffins!
So how does this game play? For starters you will have to build up your battalion by collecting cards. There are over 200 character cards in the game. In the game you have to develop your base camp, take enemy territories and acquire new troops. The game suggest that you will take part in “3D character battles” that features the same style as the Valkyria Chronicles games.
Of course the game will be free to play and offer item transactions to make money. You can check out the official site here. They are taking applications for people to test the game from now to June 25th. Again, you should brush up on your Japanese.
So Microsoft posted the product page for Sonic Adventure 2 earlier this morning, pretty much confirming that the game is almost going to be announced. From what it looks like, it seems that SEGA might have delayed the game a bit? Don’t be surprised if SEGA announces it soon.
Stuff that is now obviously confirmed include widescreen support, chaos being playable and 2 player offline. Click the jump to see all the leaked assets including in-game screenshots.
Even though we are still playing the wait game on Aliens: Colonial Marines, that isn’t stopping the fine folks over at Gearbox Software to talk about a potential sequel.
“We’re imagining things – there’s a distinct possibility. We are making the game in such a way that could support certain possibilities, but nothing is certain so we have to leave lots of ground. I think when people finish playing the game, they’ll definitely want more. We’re not just tagging off the end of the game and saying, ‘That’s the end of the Aliens chronology for this sort of thing’. We want to continue it…” – senior producer Brian Burleson
I’m sure SEGA will play the wait game and see how the first game turns out first. Since you know, its been in development forever.

SEGA has not stated when the game will be launched, just stated that if there isn’t any issues in open beta that they will launch it as soon as possible. All open beta characters and data will be transferred over to the full release. So get a head start.
Anarchy Reigns will be coming to Japan on July 5th. But what about us hard working Americans and Europeans? You will have to wait till Q1 2013 it seems. Why the delay? Platinum Games already stated that the game was localized, all SEGA has to do is release it.
“The release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated. We now expect to launch in Europe and America in Q1 of 2013,” – Tweeted SEGA.
The reason the title was already localized along side with the Japanese version was that Platinum Games wanted a world wide launch so players could play anyone from around the world day one. Sadly, the launch they wanted isn’t going to happen. What do you guys think? I don’t know why SEGA delayed the game from summer, to release it when a ton of high profile games will be coming out early 2013…
Project X Zone has been teasing just how big the game will be. They have confirmed that the game will have 90 voice actors, which lead people to believe there will be at least 90 characters in the full game. Of course this doesn’t mean there will be that many characters, I guess we will have to see how many characters make it to the final roster.
Now another number has been confirmed, over 45 songs will make it into the game. Each character will have a song from their game during battle. If you pair two characters together you will get songs from either character in your team at random. Also the field map and event music is being pulled from source materiel. Only because this is a crossover title, doesn’t mean there won’t be original music. The developers already stated they are working on some for the game’s scenario sequences. The title song for the game will also be original and is called “Mysterious Project”.
The developers already teased that the next update will be details on the gameplay systems.
The latest batch of Phantasy Star Online 2 screenshots are all about the story. The Japanese site 4Gamer has details on the story from chapter 1 through chapter 4. If you know Japanese or know how to use Google translate, you might want to check that out.

If you recall, he was in Yakuza 4, this time around he got himself a new haircut. What do you guys think? Does it suit him or do you want the longer hair?

Sony has put up their chart for the top 20 best selling PSN games of last month. I actually thought Sonic 4: Episode II was going to at least come in at the top 3, but actually came in at number 5. Recently Sonic brand manager Ken Balough stated that Sonic 4: Episode I actually sold best on PSN, then XBLA and lastly Wii (which this one is not available for).

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown has only been out for a week and it already crossed its sales target within Japan. The team responsible for porting the game announced their success via twitter earlier today. So how did Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown do everywhere else in the world?
Well, they didn’t mention that. Hopefully Playstation Plus promotions help the game out in the US.
Phantasy Star Online 2 will have a lot of areas, one of the those new areas will be arctic frost filled with snow. Here are a ton of screenshots showing off the new snow areas, including monsters you will encounter. Check it out, tell us what you think.
So, we already posted these screenshots before. But last time they weren’t really good resolution, so it’s good seeing these screens in 720p. It sort of gives you a feel for the new engine, which is a brand new one for Yakuza 5.
With E3 2012 over, videos are beginning to appear showing off the many games on display at the event. SEGA fans will no doubt love these Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed gameplay videos, the coolest one being Vyse racing through the Panzer Dragoon track. Fans will remember that Vyse and Panzer Dragoon were the two big surprises when the game was first revealed in late April. Now we get to see those two surprises in action! Eagle eyed readers may spot Amigo in his Loco-motive racing past Vyse. After the break, many more gameplay videos featuring other racers and tracks.
