Oh God! Kinect + Hatsune Miku = your perverted fantasies

Hatsun Miku fans are the odd, probably odder than Sonic fans. Actually no, they aren’t odder, just a different type of odd. Here is another PC Kinect hack that will send the freaks flying. OpenNI, Kinect and MikuMikuDance software, you can move her 3-D model around. Its not perfect, like the lower body tracking.

Regardless, pretty interesting stuff. I guess this will sell some Kinect units in Japan. Maybe SEGA will be interested in bringing a official game over? Here is another video to fap to.

Fast Striker goes Gold

Fun Fact: Thanks to Fast Striker there hasn’t been a single year in Dreamcast History without a new game.

Looks like the Dreamcast will get a new game this year, I was a little skeptical but it appears NGDEVTEAM have successfully finished porting Fast Striker before Christmas. The game is currently in the pressing stages and shipping starts 21st December.

Thor: God of Thunder coming out May 3rd

I know, most of you guys already got your pre-orders down for this upcoming gem [Sarcasm]. Well the game will be hitting outlet or wherever you buy your games on May 3rd, 3 days before the film hits the big screen.

You can no breath, save your money and wait for this game to ship out.

New Yakuza announcement coming Thursday

Are you ready? The Yakuza website is teasing an announcement for Thursday? What could it be? Most of their announcements are always quite obvious, a new game in the series most of the time. Another PSP game?

Maybe they will port this one to the Xbox 360? How long have we heard people hope for that. Would be good, at least in America. Could be the Yakuza of the End release date, since Japan hasn’t gotten a official date.

VGA Thor: God of Thunder debut trailer

Yeah, I watched this year’s VGA show. How was it? A lot better than the other years. SEGA even had a game at the show, isn’t that great? Well, I wish it was something more ‘amazing’ to show, like the Sonic 20th anniversary project or something.

SEGA’s Alan Pritchard “Aliens: Colonial Marines is still on”, 3DS News, Other Stuff…

Alan Pritchard, SEGA West’s VP of marketing and Sales, had a interview with Game Informer in the latest issue. One of the questions asked was if Aliens: Colonial Marines was still coming out. The short answer? Yes.

“Colonial Marines . We’ve been working closely with Gearbox behind the scenes, and we’ll be able to tell

Pritchard also discussed SEGA’s plans for the 3DS over the next financial and calendar year. In addition to confirming Super Monkey Ball as a 3DS launch title, he discussed plans for old and original IPs:

“We have a number of 3DS titles in our line-up for next financial and calendar year. There’s four or five existing franchises, one or two from the old Sega IP locker, and we’re looking at one or two new IPs as well.

It should be noted that in the same interview, Pritchard also mentioned that at least three Sonic titles will be revealed next year. Perhaps Sonic will be one of those existing IPs.

Big Man Japan – This is Sega Related

So to cut a long story short, my friend stopped over at my house the other day, with DVD in hand. Raving about this ‘great movie’ we just had to watch. It’s called ‘Big Man Japan’ I knew nothing about it at the time and now that I’ve watched it… I’m still not convinced I know anything about it.

But I do know that this scene is awesome. Enjoy!

Browser Sakura Wars game gets details

We posted before about the upcoming new Sakura Wars game, only issue its a browser game, not a console one. I can feel you rolling your eyes as your read that, but listen to details of the game first! The game got an offcicial name, “Sakura Taisen Taishou Roman Gakuentan.” Whatever that means. The game is also confirm to take place in Daiteikoku Gakuen or Imperial Academy.

Below in the gallery, we have artwork of Imperial Academy and some ‘gameplay’ shots taken from the trailer. If you want to view the trailer, head over to the main Sakura Wars site. OK, maybe not that much new information, but some info is better than none.

Super Monkey Ball 3DS Trailer

The first trailer for Super Monkey Ball 3DS has arrived.

There isn’t a whole lot to say about the trailer, you can’t tell how well the 3D works on a PC monitor so I can’t really comment on that. I do, however like the tropical sounding music going on!

I’m more interested in this Monkey Ball then other recent ones however, as this one’s being developed by the original team in Japan. One thing I will mention is that I hope those red rails that stop you falling out of the level do not stick around past the first few stages. I want at least SOME challenge!

Finally I really, really hope that the mini games are fun and fleshed out again. I don’t know about anyone else but the mini games in Super Monkey Ball 1, 2 and Deluxe are what kept me and my friends coming back time and time again. In more recent monkey in ball related outings the mini games have been quantity before quality, often serving as more of a tech demo for what ever control gimmick they have been designed around and not fun mini games.

Let’s hope we can trust the original team to get the (monkey) ball rolling again… Yeah, I went there!

SEGA Europe confirms 2011 titles

SEGA of Europe has confirmed some of their 2011 line up, yet missed to mention some titles that we all know are coming. Namely the PSN/XBLA games,  Sonic 3DS game, Sonic 20th anniversary game, Binary Domain, and a few unannounced projects hinted. Here is what they gave up though.

  • Conduit 2 – Wii February 2011
  • Shogun 2: Total War – PC 15th March 2011
  • Super Monkey Ball 3DS (Working title) – 2011
  • Virtua Tennis 4 – PS3 2011
  • Rise of Nightmares (Kinect) – Xbox 360 2011
  • Yakuza 4 – PS3 Spring 2011
  • Thor – Spring 2011 Xbox 360/Wii/PSP/PS3/DS
  • Captain America: Super Soldier – PS3/Xbox 360/Wii/DS – Summer 2011

Some AAA titles mixed with license titles that we will most likely hit ignore on. Seems like a confirmation of the first half of the year, hopefully fall is better.  Well,  what titles are you guys looking forward to?

Yakuza 4 trailer – Kazuma Kiryu

Here is the story trailer for everyone’s favorite Kazuma, the Dragon of Dojima. I’m really liking the narration job on the trailers, its a real 180 turn in quality compared to the third game.

redspotgames reveal new Dreamcast game on TV

This has been a tough year for Dreamcast owners, as we haven’t had a single game released this year and things got increasingly grim when redspotgames revealed this summer that their next game Solar Struggle was for Xbox Live Indie Games, and then at GamesCom they revealed they had started development for Nintendo Wii with the upcoming port of Rush Rush Rally Racing for WiiWare. It started to look like our Dreamcast wouldn’t be able to escape the grim reaper this year, however like Aika’s boomerang redspotgames returned  and revealed STURMWIND for Dreamcast on German television show “neues” (The rsg part starts at -5:10, Sturmwind footage can be seen at 07.45)
