SEGA and G FUEL team up to release Sonic The Hedgehog energy drink

SEGA has announced that they are partnering with G FUEL to release a Sonic the Hedgehog branded energy drink. Energy drinks are not new to the Sonic brand, as shops like Spencers have carried a classic Sonic branded energy drink for years. The G FUEL drink, however, takes things a step further with a Sonic inspired flavor. No, not blueberry, gummy Peach Rings! Personally, I love peach rings, so this flavor would be right up my alley even without the Sonic association. Sonic’s Peach Rings will be available to purchase for U.S. customers in 16 oz G FUEL Cans at gfuel.com on August 12, 2020.

First Look Trailer at Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record

A new trailer of the upcoming Panzer Dragoon VR title developed by Wildman was showcased during Summer Gaming Fest.

The trailer details the history of the series during the Sega Saturn era with key visual artwork and how the later two games in the trilogy, Zwei and AZEL (Saga) were not ported to latest consoles due to marketing trends. However with full 360 vision, the trilogy of the series that can be said to be “the most compatible game with VR” will be resurrected as a single omnibus title.

The developer also plans to add more episode via crowdfunding to start this year. Panzer Dragoon Voyage Record is planned for PC, Console, and Standalone VR and set for release in 2021. Follow the official Twitter account for Panzer Dragoon VR for more updates on the game.

Persona 4 Golden out now to buy and play on Steam

As you know, we posted before that Persona 4 Golden was suppose to be coming out on Steam and announced as part of the PC Gamer Show. Well, the PC Gamer Show just started, as I’m typing this and it seem Atlus got trigger happy because the store listing for Persona 4 Golden is already up to purchase! The game will cost you only $19.99, with a extra $5 dollars getting you the ‘Digital Deluxe’ Edition that comes with a digital art book and soundtrack.

Persona 4 Golden coming out to anything outside of the PlayStation Vita is a huge deal, since it was exclusive for so many years. Not only that, this port is on a platform not owned by Sony, which might come to a shock to long time Persona gamers.

Rumor: Nick Robinson says SEGA is working on Super Monkey Ball 3 via voice actor interview

YouTuber Nick Robinson went out of his way to interview Brian Matt, the voice actor for Super Monkey Ball games (announcer) back in the old days and sorta, maybe hinted at SEGA working on Super Monkey Ball 3? We actually discussed Brian Matt in the past hinting at a future Super Monkey Ball announcement. According to Nick Robinson, the voice actor is under an NDA, so you can view the interview at the top where he tries to dance around questions during the interview (Starts at 7:14) with Nick trying to fill in the blanks with his thoughts.

So this confirms that the original Super Monkey Ball announcer is working with SEGA, where he has recorded one session. According to the voice actor one of the lines he remembers doing was ‘Sad Emoji’ and ‘Happy Emoji’, which makes you wonder if this is joke lines to record or will be used in the next game. A lot of the interview is speculation since the voice actor isn’t allowed to confirm what the actual game is. I will let you watch the video and make your own opinion for yourself.

SEGA Talk Podcast #46: Binary Domain (2012)

You might know them best for the Yakuza series, but in 2012 Toshihiro Nagoshi and his team at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio released a crazy third person shooter set in the year 2080. Despite being a solid game, Binary Domain never truly found its footing worldwide, and the fallout from the release would change the way SEGA operated in the west for years to come. Phantasy Star Online 2 Episode 4 releases August 2020 on Windows 10 and Xbox One

IGN’s Summer of Gaming event has revealed that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be seeing a western release of Episode 4 to Windows 10 and Xbox One this August. The free-to-play game currently has three episodes localized, with the fourth venturing into some very weird territory. The Phantasy Star Wiki describes Episode 4 as follows:

Two years after the end of the previous episode, the player character finally wakes up from their cold sleep. ARKS has undergone an administrative overhaul, with the player and Matoi sitting on a special position called the Guardian. Additionally, ARKS has discovered a planet that resides in another dimension, which is none other than Earth. However, this discovery brought new cases onto the table, such as the sharp influx of new ARKS members and the sudden appearance of enigmatic creatures known as Phantoms on the planet.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX Announced, Coming Q1 2021 To PS4, Xbox One, Switch & PC

It looks like Alex Kidd isn’t dead after all, we got a Steam Page for Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, which is set to be a remake of ‘Alex Kidd in Miracle World’ for the SEGA Master System. The game is set to release to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The game has redone graphics with some ‘dream like’ bloom effects added in. The game is being developed by Merge Games and Jankenteam and being published by Merge Games. So far no console releases have been talked about. It also looks like the retro graphics will be there too, much like the remake of Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap.

“A legend returns in stunning new detail with Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX! Fire up your power bracelet and relive a platforming classic alongside new modes, levels and features! “

Merge Games is a independent company founded in 2010 who have also done a physical copy for Streets of Rage 4 recently. Looks like they learned from DotEmu and want to jump in the ‘revive SEGA brands’ idea. What do you guys think of this? Good? Bad?

Persona 4 Golden shows up on SteamDB listing, could be announced at the PC Game Show (UPDATE!)

Pixelbuster on Twitter has found the following SteamDB listing for Atlus’ acclaimed PlayStation Vita exclusive Persona 4 Golden. We first got the news that Atlus opened up a Steam page and confirmed that they will be showing off new products at PC Gaming Show 2020. We do know that Atlus used to have a rule that if they ported a game to another console, that they would have to add new features. Seems that this has been dropped with the release of Catherine Classic on PC. It seems we might be getting even more ports of older Atlus classics if Persona 4 Golden gets announced soon.

At this point it would be a huge missed opportunity not to just release Persona 4 Golden on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch as well. Why not? The PC Game Show 2020 will air on June 13th, so we will probably get this confirmed really soon.

UPDATE: So what we know for sure is that its a game by Atlus, oddly enough SteamDB people have come out and said the following “This is not confirmed to be Persona, it did not leak on SteamDB. Take these rumors with a grain of salt.” It seems that ‘Code Fusion’ has a support page for this game, on half of SEGA, so there is also that.
