The Dreamcast Scene is going to be very active this fall German Publisher redspotgames won’t have a new Dreamcast game out his year, but they are not letting that get in the way of the celebrations, in order to keep the scene active they have  permanently dropped prices of Wind & Water: Puzzle Battle (13.25) and Rush Rush Rally Racing (29.25).

American Publisher and Pioneer of indie games for Dreamcast GOAT Store have the best offer though, as they will give a free copy of Feet of Fury (the first indie game ever made) to anyone who buys anything from them no price limit (well the cheapest item on the store is 24 cents, just under a quarter), which is perfect cause they run the largest online Dreamcast Store, from batteries for your VMU to Japanese imports they have everything at economical prices.

Lastly Dreamcast fans don’t foget NG:Dev.Team have just released Dreamcast’s only new game Fast-Striker :).

Round Table: Our favorite SEGA Christmas memories

Its Christmas time, so you had to expect a ‘Christmas themed’ article. Well our article will be about our favorite SEGA Chirstmas memories. You can read our memories and if you want to share some of yours, feel free in the comment box.

Happy Holidays everyone, be safe out there and don’t stuff yourself too much.

Yakuza of the End’s partner system detailed

SEGA is changing up the Yakuza formula, not just adding more gun play and zombies, but a ‘partner system’. The partner system is called “Aibo wo Tsukurou!” or in English “Let’s make a partner!”

If you clear some sub story missions you will unlock partner characters, which you will be able to level up and bring with you to challenge dungeons called “Kamurocho Underground.” While fighting you will be able to give them commands.

Some of the partner characters will be returning faces like Kazuto Arase and Makoto Date. To level up your partner characters a user has to go to “Gary’s Boot Camp”, which is run by Gary Buster Holmes, who you might remember from the first two PS2 games.

Yakuza 4 Character Trailer – Masayoshi Tanimura

Here is another Yakuza 4 character trailer. This trailer tells the back story of ‘good cop gone bad’ Masayoshi Tanimura who is on the hunt for his fathers killer… But not before he does some gambling.

Anyone reminded of Shenmue?

This could be the final character trailer for the game as all main characters have had their story told now. Unless they plan on doing trailers for the sub-characters or bad guys. That could be cool.

Project Diva 2 will be playable on PS3 too

If you didn’t know, the first Project Diva game was playable on the PS3 via a application you bought called “Hatsune Miku Dreamy Theater” and now SEGA has said they are planning Hatsune Miku Dreamy Theater 2nd.

This app will basically let you play the PSP game, on the PS3 with high definition graphics. It is expected to come out in Summer 2011, no price announced just yet.

You can check out the official site here, even has a teaser for the app here.

New Trailer for Dreamcast’s Sturmwind

Recently, redspotgames CEO, Max Scharl revealed their latest Dreamcast title “Sturmwind” on national television (German tv show “Neues” in a segment on underdogs). Since then, Sturmwind has received a lot of positive press even though only a handful of screen shots have been shown. Today we feast our eyes on.

The reason for all the excitement is that Sturmwind is an original Dreamcast game, built from the ground up to take advantage of Sega’s hardware, where as recently released shump Fast Striker (on sale at Play-Asia & NG:Dev.Direct) an excellent game in it’s own right is an enhanced Neo-Geo Port.

Fun Fact: A recurring theme in Dreamcast games these days is that Duranik the studio behind Sturmwind is composed off 2 brothers, just like KonTechs (DUX), NG:Dev.Team (Last Hope), Senile Team (Rush Rush Rally Racing), Yuan Works (Wind & Water: Puzzle Battles).

5 Times Sonic Totally Beat Mario

There are moments in Sonic and Mario’s histories worthy of debate: Sonic 3 or Super Mario 3? Who had the better first 3D game? Mario Kart Wii or Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Wii? However, there are also moments when it is so obvious that Sonic won, even the most hardcore Mario fans will have a tough time assembling a counter argument. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and revisit 5 times Sonic totally beat Mario!

Hyperdimension Neptunia to have SEGA tie-ins intact

As you know, NIS America is bringing over Hyperdimension Neptunia to the States. When it was announced, I assume that all copyrighted SEGA power-ups that where announced for the Japanese release would be taken out. Seems not so.

“Upon acquisition, they will allow you to customize your battle combinations to add, for example, an Alex Kidd or Space Harrier special summon attack where you can deal some serious late 80’s/Early 90’s damage to your foe.”Ryan Phillips, Marketing Coordinator, NIS America

Not only was this info released, we also got a new trailer. Which you are able to view above.

Round Table: SEGA IPs that could make great social games

Social games seem to be the hot thing right, every company is doing them and most are having a big success. SEGA even has their own social gaming site, with some pretty neat flash based games.

But they don’t really use their old IPs, outside of Sonic, for their games and they are really just ‘flash games’ and not very social like Yakuza Mobile or Shenmue City. What SEGA games do we want to see become social games? Hit the jump and yell at us in the comment section.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 anime gets first details

So we posted awhile back how Valkyria Chronicles was going to get 2 OVAs. Well now we are getting all the details. The OVAs will be called “Senjo no Valkyria 3 Tagatame no Juusou” and will be done by A-1 pictures. Nobuhiro Kondo will be the director and Hiroshi Onogi will handle the script.

Not detailed yet, but SEGA is saying there will be some sort of connectivity between the anime and gam. In the official site, game producer Shinji Motoyama said he would like it to be downloadable content.

The videos will be releasing in Sprint 2011, PSN video store will have first dibs.
