Captain America: Super Soldier hands on (Xbox 360)

I’m weary about being a little too positive regarding games I play at E3. The splendor of it all and having the developer standing right next to you can really help skew the experience, especially for an E3 noob like myself. Even taking this into account, I do believe I can at least say this about Captain America: it doesn’t suck. In fact, I would go so far as to say it’s a lot of fun. How fun the final product will be I cannot say, but my experience here was definitely a positive one.

Binary Domain confirms Kinect support

I’m still on the edge about voice commands in video games. The reason? They never work out and are just stupid concepts. Regardless of how I feel about this, Nagoshi’s newest title will have voice commands for squad members. If you have Kinect, you will be able to use that.

Oddly enough, Playstation Eye, which also has a microphone, has not been confirmed to be supported.

Sonic Generations – City Escape Interview & Walkthrough

So this is pretty awesome, GameSpot snagged a nice long interview with ‘new guy’ (yeah, I’ll learn your name in due time… When you live up to Aaron and Ken!) and the game director Hiroshi Miyamoto.

You can see the entire walkthrough of Green Hill Zone and City Escape in both modern and classic gameplay. It looks pretty great! Part one is above and hit the jump to see part 2!

Overkill: Extended Cut to get 60% more content

The port of the highly successful The House of the Dead: Overkill is to get a large amount of new content. Destructoid confirms that the Extended Cut is due to not only have new levels as confirmed beforehand, but new zombies, weapons, and even audio tracks. There has also been a new mini-game added that occurs during cutscenes. It is safe to assume that those who are thinking of double dipping for this version can be justified in knowing that they will not be buying the same game twice.

Sony dates rest of the Genesis PSN releases

Awhile back SEGA announced it would be releasing a collection of SEGA Genesis titles, mostly titles already out on XBLA.  If you are a Playstation Plus subscriber, these games where free. But since only Sonic and Sonic 2 have been released, when will the rest?

Playstation Plus:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2: Mar 1 – June 14 (out now obviously)
  • Streets of Rage 2: June 14 –July 12
  • Golden Axe 2: July 12 – August 9
  • Comix Zone: August 9 – September 6
  • Altered Beast: September 6 – October 4

If you don’t have Playstation Plus, here is the regular schedule. Playstation Plus basically get the games a week early.

E3: Shinobi 3DS hands on

I love Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master. In my opinion it was easily one of the best games SEGA ever made for the Genesis. Needless to say, when I heard the series was finally getting a new game, I was ecstatic…and a little worried. After all, after the series hit its high point with Shinobi 3, it’s been subjected to some less than stellar games through the likes of Shinobi Legions and Shinobi PS2. I am happy to report that this game isn’t like those games; unlike them, Shinobi 3DS does indeed have a bunch of things in common with the Genesis games, including a few very obvious throwbacks.

Rise of Nightmares demonstration videos

Straight from E3 are a couple videos of SEGA’s survival horror Kinect game Rise of Nightmare that showcase a range of gameplay elements such as covering your ears to stop loud sounds and the various ways to interact with the world of the game. Check after the break for a longer video of the game. Rise of Nightmares is slated for an October launch.

SEGA to release 5 Game Gear titles on 3DS this summer

So you are waiting for big software to hit the 3DS? What will you play this summer? You could spend some time with Game Gear classics, thanks to SEGA. They announced that the following five titles will be released this summer, no specific released dates yet.

  • Columns
  • Dragon Crystal
  • Shinobi
  • Sonic Drift
  • Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble

GG Shinobi is actually quite an excellent title. A bit weird, since you can play 5 different colored ninjas, but fun.

Anarchy Reigns – Video Walkthrough

Here is a walkthrough for Sega and Platinum Games’ next title ‘Anarchy Reigns’. Anarchy Reigns is an online brawler starring many characters from the black, white, and red ultra violent Wii game MadWorld.

The spots of lag from the last time the game was shown seem to have cleared up and it appears to be running pretty smoothly.

Dragon’s Crown orginally started life as Dreamcast game

The upcoming Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita game by Vanillaware started life as a Dreamcast game. Famitsu had a 4 page interview with director George Kamitani.

The project started about 13 years ago after the team released their SEGA Saturn title “Princess Crown” (Published and developed under the Atlus banner). This game was supposed to be its successor on the Dreamcast. George Kamitani says games like Golden Axe and King of Dragon have influenced this game greatly, and has confirmed 4 player co-op.

Feels good seeing people finish up Dreamcast projects, even if they’re not on Dreamcast. How about we get a polished up version of some of these great canceled DC games?
